Sustainability

On the 20th of July Jeff Bezos made $13 billion in a day. IN A DAY!!!! He doesn’t need your cash. We think it’s really important to try and shop local.

A lot of brands are “sustainable” or “organic” or “ethical” these days. They have just become buzz words and a lot of the big brands use them while continuing to be some of the biggest polluters and exploiting their workers. So we will briefly try and explain how we are trying our best to be good.

The truly sustainable thing to do would be not to buy one of our products. We buy a lot of stuff we don’t really need, and there is negative impacts to the planet from the production and transportation of the stuff we buy.

Saying that, when you do buy a T shirt or a hoodie, it’s much better to buy a good quality one from somewhere like SLAB than keep the exploitation machine rolling on at Primark, having it shrink in the wash and buy another one 6 months later.

Our T shirts and hoodies are made from 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton uses less water in the process and does not use harmful pesticides. Our sweatshirts also include recycled polyester. We work with suppliers that offset their carbon footprint.

All our products are Fair Wear certified. This means the workers are paid a fair wage, do not use child labour and have good working conditions.

All our products are also vegan. VEGAN! Try explaining that to your Gran.

It's looking pretty grim. We have really wrecked the environment and all around the world people are exploited for profit. We are pretty pessimistic about the fate of the planet. Buying one our T shirts isn’t gonna change that.

But it’s at least a step in the right direction. Thinking about how we buy is an easy way to do our bit for the health of the planet and the lovely people that call it home.

We may just be passing by on this planet, but let’s think about what we’re passing on.
